To cut long boards alone: A good saw is essential--batteries = no cord in the way. Gloves and hearing protection always help. Cut in a bit, stop, clamp a scrap to the solid section, continue cutting.
The scrap keeps the board from dropping off when you reach the end.
BTW these pics were taken in 2020 and this same saw is still working, still used regularly, and I may have used it in a few ways that would possibly void the warranty...like swapping in an abrasive blade and cutting steel roofing 😮

Seriously, on job sites there is a bougie attitude that leads people toward higher priced tools. I got this for free on a Father's day sale when it was normally $55. My trade is HVAC, but I've also been in Maintenance Management for over 30 years. I've seen my share of tools, and I can't complain about any of my Ryobi tools, and in my work they get used, abused, and occasionally stolen.
